The Tap & spile, Hull=Music session
The White Hart, Hull =Music Session
The Plimsoll Ship, Hull=Accoustic Session
Durty Nellies, Hull, Open Mike session
The Sloop, Barton, Music session
The Mint, Hull, Jazz session with open mike
The Post Office Club, York, Blues Session

Why not a separate thread for each pub in Hull and each day of each year?

BTW, 1 4 the road are not playing in Münster tonight, but you could hear them in Ibbenbüren.

Is it just me or does starting a thread about a band not being someplace strike anyone else as the sort of weird illogical logic epitomized by British authors Terry Pratchett and the late Douglas Adams? You know, talking about spaceships that hang in the air "in exactly the same way that bricks don't" or Luggage that's impossible to lose, no matter how hard you try. Must just be a UK thing. Something in the food or water, maybe?

Perhaps we are just a wee bit more intelligent, anyway the luggage was always being left behind. Okay so it caught up by its self, but, can you prove that when you loose your luggage at an airport it dosn't make its own way home???

Dare I say that it's beginnin' to sound like this is anotehr one of them thar cults, like the "Brotherhood of the Wolf" , and there be no rhyme nor reason beyond this point.

I will say that it's gone on long enough to inspire crafting a thread of a parody group ,and thus a parody cult following,
going by the name "Screw the Pooch".

Oh and it's a long and ponderous list of places where "Screw the Pooch" will *not* be appearing that one is sorely tempted to post.

They are not appearing with Lars Pimple at Cherry Burton (what a nice name) UK on friday night, neither are screw the pooch which I think is a great shame because with a name like that you'd expect to see and hear them at such a selooobrius place (providing they clean up after themselves and use the bins provided9

I've just noticed this, & Noreen is right, kids have been made unwelcome in a few local pubs recently.I was not at The Black Boy session, but I heard that people with kids were asked to leave the session, also Pete , [mudcat member Deinmeister), who used to run the Sunday daytime at Nellies was told his kids were not welcome in the room used for music, his kids were playing there instruments , and not causing anyone any problem.Also at The Tap & Spile, in Hull, Mandolin Malcom was asked to take his 10 year old daughter out of the pub, during the sunday night session, she is learning fiddle & tin whistle, and was causing no problem whatsoever, I should stress that there was no complaint from the landlady { Theresa) , who is a folksinger, and has kids herself, but from another person at the session.I dont have kids myself, so this does not really affect me, but I think kids should be encouraged to learn an instrument and play it in sessions.I have recently started learning an instrument myself and realise how much plesiure you can get from music.

The Nellies session has moved to the Sun, and Mandolin Malcom and myself are trying to start a daytime session at The Tap & Spile.Kids are welcome at both these sessions I don't know what is happening about the Black Boy session. I think everybody regardless of age etc, should be given a chance to enjoy music.A while back there was a thread were people were telling each other about Non Smoking pubs, maybe it would be an idea for people to make a list of pubs where kids have been made welcome.

Eh Up Mick, your up early ! session is still on, 4th Sunday of the month at 2 PM, likely attendees include Theresa, Les, Maggie, Mandolin Malcom, Liz, Me, John & Christine, Sarah, John the Guitar, and as many mudcatters as i can persuade to go.
It will be the 27th this month, I chose 4th as the others already have stuff, 1st is The Sun, 2nd =Blues Jam at the Tap, & 3rd =Folk Session at The Black Boy.

The Black Boy session is on the third Sunday (20th this month). It's usually a mostly tune session. The tunes are propbably over 50% English, the rest Irish, Scots, American and so on. We sometimes have a song or two.
