Hi all,

I was reading through the 3 Wishes thread and it suddenly hit me! (I gotta learn to duck). I can't remember seeing a thread on when and where we all lost "it." I looked through the database and couldn't find one - just one on loosing your "stage performance" virginity.

So here goes:

When, where, who, how long, and was it all that it was supposed to be?

I expect you mean "losing" (which means surrendering or mmisplacing) rather than "loosing" which means unleashing or untying, BC.

My 18th summer, actually. I am sorry to say it was a rather poor sort of event as such things go, given we were both about as experienced as snowballs.

Just like Amos, I was 18 and it wasn't that great an experience because neither I nor the young lady knew what we were doing. Alas! But we stayed together for more thaa a year after that and got better at it

Technically, it was on a horse, after about 8 hours of heavy riding (in contrast to heavy petting). I was 15, and I vaguely recall having a cigarette afterwards, as he/she? munched some hay. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't one of the best times I ever had...though it lent a whole new meaning to the term "saddle sore" for me..xx..e

I know it was a typo, but that expression "loose your virginity" is an evocative one.

About 1962 - I hadn't been keeping it on purpose - it was just the first time a girl said "You can go all the way if you want". I had had several sexual affairs by then, it was just that I had never achieved an orgasm by actual penetration before. I don't think that I was very skilful, but the lady seemed to enjoy it and seemed to want it again (and again and again and again . . . . ) - it provided me with the beginning of the learning curve - and was very enjoyable - I hope mutually.

Rapaire - mobile phones haven't been around long enough for you to have lost your virginity to one of them and I hate think what you were doing with it if you did ! Is that the latest story that girls tell their mums to explain the absence of a complete hymen ? - it was usually riding a bicycle (or a pony if they were posh types) in my day.

I knew a young lady who had a very rewarding relationship with the corner of her spin-dryer (she claimed that she had to press up to it to prevent it waltzing around the floor), but she never claimed that it deflowered her.

I appreciate that you've spent time in Chicago, but having had over 120 years of family roots here, downstate Illinois and Chicago are world's apart. Once you get 100 miles out of Chicago, the mid-western twang kicks in, country music is on just about every radio station (not a bad thing!) and they have no idea what an Italian beef sandwich is ( not a good thing). The most ethnic a restaurant gets is Pizza Hut and for sure you never run into a Jew like me!

Shucks, Martin, I went to (Catholic-run) college with Jewish folks. Set gravestones for 'em, too, back when I was doing that for a living. Not "some of my best friends are..." but true "nice folks, even though the xxxxx's are some real shits, just like the (Catholic, Lutheran, etc.) NNNNNNN's are." Besides, my brother studied Hebrew at the local synagogue.

As for time in Illinois, my roots in downstate (yes, it IS a different world, being mostly rural) can be traced to 1827. There were apparently some of my ancestors there before that, only we can't prove it. I currently have five or six cousins living in Chi, as well as a bunch of friends there.

I loosed my virginity in my 16th year on a weekend my folks were away down south. It went tearing across the countryside, leaving a helluva mess in its wake. Nobody ever saw it again. Reports came back that it perished in a cloud of spliff smoke and sour Brador.
