A Legacy Life Membership is a Life membership purchased by a group of
Folk Alliance members on behalf of an individual who is a personal
hero to those members. This recognition program was proposed by Joel
Mabus and started in March of 2003. Art Thieme, one of the single
largest dipositary of folk knowledge in the Midwest, has received our
first completed Legacy Life Membership.

Who deserves it more? I have a hard drive filled with Art Thieme stories, bad puns (didn't know I kept all those didja'?), and these fantastic pictures that keep appearing in my e-mailbox. Then there's this tape of a classic interview that everyone should have if you want to hear what Art can do when he's asking and listening.....he's good at that too.

Congratulations Art!   Quite somply no one deserves it more!
