Subject: RE: Hull Sesssions and Singarounds From: nboldock Date: 03 Sep 12 - 05:43 AM Jus' a brief note to say that myself and Jane of Ull rather enjoyed our maiden visit to yesterday's sesh (though certainly NOT a maiden visit to the hallowed watering hole that is the Welly) and we'll do our best to stick to our assertion that we'll be coming back next time... hopefully with JoU's fiddle in tow (at the very least)... :-) I've had the bloody Blackleg Miner stuck in my head all morning... |
Subject: RE: Hull Sesssions and Singarounds From: GUEST,ossatgymn Date: 03 Sep 12 - 06:52 AM Ah tis a catchy little number aint it? nice to see you both (I was the one singing it!!) |
Subject: RE: Hull Sesssions and Singarounds From: Jane of 'ull Date: 03 Sep 12 - 03:56 PM Yes twas good, I enjoyed it. Will bring fiddle and / or banjo next time. However both need some minor adjustments..I need someone in Hull who can do repairs to both instruments. My banjo maker lives in Hornsea and my violin man is in Beverley music shop but doesn't work Saturdays. Which is difficult because I'm at work in Hull mon to fri so can't get to the shop when he's there. Unfortunately having no transport and not a lot of money means someone in Hull would be much easier all round for me! I want a 'railroad spike' capo fitting to my (5 string) banjo and my violin cured of its very annoying buzz that it's recently acquired! Jane |
Subject: RE: Hull Sesssions and Singarounds From: Jane of 'ull Date: 03 Sep 12 - 05:08 PM ..I'd like a new fiddle really but that's another story! Beverley music shop has some nice ones, I don't know of anywhere else that specialises in 'em around these parts. Anyway, any help is appreciated with this.. |
Subject: RE: Hull Sesssions and Singarounds From: Banjo-Flower Date: 03 Sep 12 - 06:45 PM "I want a 'railroad spike' capo fitting to my (5 string) banjo" this is a very simple job well within the capabilities of any average " D I Y er" you can get the spikes from any railway model shop and send a PM to BanjoRay and I'm sure he,ll be only to happy to tell how to fit it Gerry |
Subject: RE: Hull Sesssions and Singarounds From: Johnjo Date: 04 Sep 12 - 05:28 AM Jane, our friend in Hornsea goes to the Beverley Music Shop most Wednesdays. I'm sure if You spoke to him, it would be possible for you to drop the banjo there for him on a Saturday and he could collect it when he visits. If the job is straightforward, he may be able to do it on site and leave it for you to collect the following weekend. Just a thought? Might be worth a phone call to see. |
Subject: RE: Hull Sesssions and Singarounds From: Jane of 'ull Date: 11 Sep 12 - 04:28 PM Have messaged BanjoRay, thanks Banjo-Flower. Sorry Johnjo but that would involve trips to Beverley, if I can find someone in Hull to do it it would be so much easier! thanks anyway. Anyone know a fiddle repairer in Hull then? Jane |
