Really good set last night, Moses!

Some great songs, plenty of contrast and delivered with style.

Well done, and the voice held out too!

All in all a jolly good evening with 1st class sets from all who contributed plus a variety of styles and tastes in song and music.

Then its always a good night at the 'Spotlight' where next week its El Greko and jetlag, followed by Keith Snodon to close the 1st term.

moses is getting to be a bit of a diver, or is it diva, whatever!

If you read this and fancy a floorspot, then P M me, do 4 and you may be offered a gig!!!

Breezy, if MCP's who I think he is, and he's coming to do you a spot you're in for a treat. I was with him (I think) and Zanymouse at Market Rasen (Lincs) on Friday night and he's effin' good - blew me away. Would that I could play like him!
Have a good one.

So you dont get out much up there these days do you? They are all that good or better down here.

nah , he - MCP - aint that good, in case you didnt notice ,he doesnt even know how to use a capo.

He gigged our club in the early days , cleaned us out , so he's doing a charity gig to compensate our balance, but dont tell him.

He'll be doing a Friday and a Sunday over the same week end in October.

but then you aint seen Fleggy have you?

We only book the best and the better ones are residents!!!!!

Thanks for the compliments SJ and ElG.

Breezy - I've played with Chris Flegg and given the suicidal nature of that undertaking it's the other two virtues I'll be using - faith and hope. Charity will be nowhere in sight!

Breezy
Everybody was very good on friday. I don't know anybody (based on feedback) that left Market Rasen Folk Club on Friday that didn't thoroughly enjoy the evening, and the quality of music.

Roll on April the 23rd for the next night.

Although it was a bit tight for time, everybody 10(artists/groups) had floor spots between 10 mins to 20 mins.

Unless soembody isn't telling me something. You know what Brits are like, don't like to tell you the truth :-).

Use a kitchen clock and when the alarm goes-----stop

MCP, I thought I wrote incomprehensibly.

Going to see Fleegy doing his Jazz/Blues tonight at the White Lion, Sopwell lane , St Albans, part of my self inflicting mind expanding experience.

Hows 'Joshua Gone Barbados' these days?

'Lydia oh Lydia ,that encyclopedia, Lydia that tattooed lady

Breezy, if you had to dig your car out of the snowdrifts like we do you wouldn't go out much either! :0) Mind you, when we do go out at least we get proper beer, not like that cat-pee southerners are forced to drink (am I in the wrong thread?????)
All the best
Johnny :0)

PS, I noticed that MCP's too bloody mean to buy a capo. Crazy - fifteen quid would have saved him all that time learning to play properly! :0)

So, in order to compare,am I to believe you actually drank the cats pee at the Comfort Hotel, Stroller.

The locals down hear never drink the water.

£15 for a capo, blimey, southern prices moving up norf.

Nah, I've got to come clean - I actually like a lot of southern beers now that the Real Ale scene's thriving, there's some good stuff flowing northwards. It was just Red Barrel I never could stand.

And yes, I thought fifteen quid was a lot too, but that's inflation for you! The way our house prices are moving here it'll soon be CHEAPER to live darn sarf! :0)

All t'best
Johnny :0)

Hi MCP - hope everything up north is going well?

Still can't thank you & Zany enough, for the support you gave the Bull in Barton, in it's early days

Looking forward to seeing you in concert down here soon (only mortals use capo's)

That's great news JB - I've pencilled in both MCP dates

Thanks for the encouragement - I've shied away from pushing for a spotlight set, but the 7th Nov sounds far enough away to prepare for and not too frighteningly close

Consider it a date
