Subject: RE: session at sun inn Beverley (UK) From: The DeanMeister Date: 02 Dec 02 - 07:51 AM It was lovely day though....4 fiddles, Cello, Bass, whistles Harmonicas, Guitars, Bazouki, madolins, a mandola, and loads of singers. Thanks to all who participated. The stereo version of the Punch Ladle was particularly outstanding. All who witnessed it will understand what I mean! I even managed to stay sober and in control until everyone left....then smallpliers and Nik Nak sat me down and funnelled several pints of cider down my neck and it all went pear shaped for me. Ooops. Oh well, I enjoyed it. Lets do it again soon. Am thinking of invading the Sun Inn on Sunday 22nd December. Perhaps you might Join me in a Carol or 20? |

Subject: RE: session at sun inn Beverley (UK) From: harpmaker Date: 02 Dec 02 - 02:36 PM A great afternoon! real quality stuff. We then ventured to Oddies for a song or two, good stuff again in there. lasted till 9.00pm @ then went back to the sun to see doghouse skiffle, i entered the pub @ it was packed, the band members saw me walk in, and they all pointed at me and said THE HARP MAN, THE HARP MAN, over the PA!!! very embarasing I must say. Doghouse where brilliant, anyone who has not seen them realy should make a point of doing so. |

It is slightly less folky than the ones that Pete and I run but it is acoustic and folkies do go and play. At 8pm that day they have a short church sevice run by the adjacent Beverley Minster and from 9pm I will be peforming solo in my guise as Rocking Roger - I haven't worked out a set yet but intend to start with Waterloo Sunset.
