I have never seen a guitar like this. It looks like 8 string, steel bodied high strung resonator. It also looks like the two highest strings are in unison.
Is anyone familiar with a beast like this?
He can sure play it!

Sorry, I don't think it's high strung. Anyways I'm curious about it. I've not very well versed in the blues and wonder if this is common?

Hmmm... very interesting!

It seems to me he's playing in an open A tuning, with an extra low A bass string (below the 'standard' E) and doubled high E treble strings.
