Subject: Lyr Req: From the rolling hills of Maine From: Dancealot Date: 04 Jun 08 - 07:18 PM "From the rolling hills of Maine to the sunny shores of Florida." Or something similar. Anyone recognize the song? No, not "Halls of Montezuma". Trying to help a friend's daughter-in-law nail down a song which her 102-year-old grandmother wants played at her memorial service (June 21). It contains those lyrics. Maybe it is not a hymn. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: From the rolling hills of Maine From: Charley Noble Date: 05 Jun 08 - 05:01 PM This may be a stretch. In a review of singer-songwriter Rod MacDonald a reviewer writes: "His 1999 songs collection "Into The Blue" contained material inspired by his then-recent relocation from New York City to the sunny shores of Florida." The 102-year old grandmother is probably thinking of an older song. Charley Noble |
