Subject: Mudcat Recording on the Month Club From: lloyd61 Date: 18 Dec 99 - 10:38 AM Mudcat CD of the month club. As stated in an earlier thread I have started to collect CD's of Muscat Talent. What I call the Muscat music of the month club. It is a way for me to put music to the Muscat written word. October 1999 It all started with Art Thieme's "The Older I get" CD. This CD brought back many years of enjoyment at the "No Exit", a famous coffee House in the Chicago area. Art was featured every New Years eve. I don't think I missed very many. Thank you Art for putting together a collection of your music and stories. I will always treasure this CD, And when is the next collectors CD coming out? This CD should be a part of every Mudcat collection. November 1999 Rick Fielding, "This one's The Dreamer" This is a great CD. Rick is an incredible talented artist. Not only does he have great voice, he plays the Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Autoharp, And has written much of the material. "Sing with the Angels" and "When we gather once more" are two my favorite on this CD. This another CD which should be in every Mudcat collection. December 1999 Musicman suggested a collection of Waltzes and Slow Airs by the name of "Farewell". I'm not sure what part Musicman had in this CD but I do owe him a word of thanks for directing me to such a wonderful CD. When I started to play the CD my wife came into the room and said "Where did you get find such beautiful Music". The CD is produced in the Memory of someone by the name of Mya Domeij Eveden, with the proceed going to her memorial. The artists, David Sinclair, Mary Brunner, Nail Heustis, Paul Evenden, Lew Adams, and Eleanor Evenden must have loved her very much to create such a beautiful CD in her memory. Two cuts stopped my world, "Tom Blackman's Waltz", and the title cut "Farewell". Again, every Mudcat should have this CD in their collection. A December bonus, While ordering Farewell the good friends of Folk-Legacy talk me into another great CD. Carol Barney and John Sherman's "Ceol Anam". Two outstanding Guitarists joined together to create this wonderful CD of Traditional Irish Music. Again I say Make this CD a part of your collection. Next Month…..January 2000 I am looking forward to Kendall's suggestion "Beginner Luck". I'll give you fair warning, Kendall, your selection is following some great music! February 2000… Nargmac I will be looking at your home page, but do you have any suggestions? While I am working down a previous thread it is not to late to add your CD or tape to my list. |

Just so you know, Musicman IS Paul Evenden and the "Farewell" cd was done by him and friends in memory of his wife who passed away last January. If you go to his website you can read a bit more about her and learn that she was a very important and well-loved music person in their part of the world. luvyaKat |
