I never knew that the Wahoo was a fish -- a big one.
A fishing crew called Red Labor caught a REALLY big Wahoo.
It's in Newsweek magazine.

Huge Wahoo Caught off South Carolina after Hour-long Battle with Fishermen

Not exactly the same, but the great Western Swing musician Bill Boyd made a song that's somewhat fitting here: Bill Boyd & his Cowboy Ramblers Wah Hoo!. See the lyrics here.

Along a similar vein, after a visit to Weldon, NC, I've recently been wanting to make a song about Jonathan Jackson, a local drunk and fisherman (in that order) who claimed to have nearly caught a massive, 198" and 4,000 lb rockfish shortly before his death in 1904. Maybe I'll be inspired to do it now

I believe that Stilly quoted that Wah-Hoo song
in a post within the last year or two.
