Subject: Mid 50s Old Wrangler radio show From: GUEST,walter reitman Date: 16 Dec 25 - 02:13 PM Around 1956, listening evenings in Ann Arbor, MI, I could get a very funny weekly show from the Canadian radio network. It was narrated by "the old wrangler". It featured maybe five characters, all actually different voices used by the old wrangler. Some episodes touched on the wild ponies of Sable island. The programs' format resembled Fred Allen's radio shows. Are there any recordings of these shows? |

Buck pitches his Buck Jones Rangers Club on the show and offers premiums such as a red and gold metallic pin and a booklet with “lots of prizes” redeemable by sending in a certain amount of Post Cereal boxtops. (Lariats, chaps, hat, etc.). Several episodes of this rare series can be found and listened to on the internet." |
