2026 Obit: Mic Darling - West Yorkshire

Hi, just letting people know that Mic Darling died on 9 March. Many people especially around West Yorksire will have seen Mic and Susie Darling around folk clubs and festivals. Other people who knew Mic better than me like Mike Harding have written about them on social media and Sam Barratt has written a wonderfull song called the Ballad of Mic and Susie which I would recomend. A quote from Sam - The ballad of Mic and Susie tells the story of two very inspirational people from the traveller community who I'm proud to call my friends. I knew Mic (and Susie) having met them at Morely Folk Club, Green Dragon weekends at Hardraw, and Im sure many people here will have fond memories similar to mine os singing and sahring good company and friendship. RIP Mic

I have added Mic Darling to the roll today. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but he made a name for himself around the west and north of Yorkshire with his singing, often alongside Susie. I would like to send my condolences to all who know and love him. RIP Mic
