From the BBC article : “Mick Le Hury, runs Guernsey's Folk Club.
The musician said he knew British folk songs, though not one Guernsey folk song.
"There is a great danger that some of that will be lost", he warned.
Le Hury noted how songs from other cultures "really do get passed down but the Guernsey ones probably won't be".

I’ve seen people on Mudcat object to Peter Kennedy's methods but Kennedy did include -and possibly saved for a while - songs from Guernsey and other Channel islands in his Songs of Great Britain and Ireland collection.

may I remind Sarcophiles and those interested in Channel Islands music of the past of an important CD 'SARK VOICES'

It was collated, largely from Peter Kennedy's recordings, by my brother in law Ken Lees some years ago. I know that the tourist office in Sark had a stock of copies, and I could find out where else you can buy it- try online ? An amazing collection of the older music & songs of Sark, many in the island's French patois.
