Subject: Plug: Essex Music Festival From: RWilhelm Date: 25 Aug 00 - 06:24 PM Anyone who will be in or around the North Shore of Massachusetts tomorrow may want to check out the Essex Music Festival. We have 16 accoustic acts on two stages featuring plenty of traditional music and no pop covers(!) We have bluegrass, blues, old-timey, maritime, jug band, Celtic harp, alt-country, story telling, juggling, traditional folk, contemporary folk, and a singer/songwriter who isn't whiney! All performers from the Cape Ann/North Shore area. There will be food and locally brewed beer.
All proceeds go to the restoration of the festival site: Thanks. This is a public service announcement, I'm not making a nickel.

Subject: RE: Plug: Essex Music Festival From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 26 Aug 00 - 07:12 PM Bugger, I thought you meant our Essex, in England, since we're a bit short of festivals at the moment, and I thought maybe a new one was being launched.
But, in case anyone else makes the same mistake, this next Sunday September 3, here in Harlow there is a free Folk Day with various locals doing our stuff from 12 noon to 6pm or so, at the Town Park Bandstand, with a beertent of some kind as well. (Near the Youth Hostel)
And the following weekend at Walton on the Naze, also in Esse4x, there is a weekend festival, Sept 8-10 WALTON ON THE NAZE FOLK FESTIVAL 2000, Essex. Free camping, and a season ticket wold cost £38, various excellent guests; details from: Jon&Pam Fitzgerald, 9 Marine Parade, Dovercourt, Harwich, Essex, CO12 3JX e-mail: festinfo@thrift-music.com 01255 6579232/670087 |
