Subject: Robotman has disappeared!

Something strange is going on. I'm sure there must be a musical connection, hence my appeal on the 'Cat. (I've no idea what it is, but I'm sure I could think of something if I had to justify myself.)

My favourite cartoon (US: comic strip) character has been disappeared: Robotman has been scripted away to a far distant planet, never to return to Earth; even the name of the strip has been changed fom "Robotman" to "Monty" (his inventer and co-star); and (very significantly, in my view) author Jim Meddick's e-mail address has been taken off the contasct list and re[placed by a snail-mail accomodation address. Don't tell me there's nothing funny behind all this!

Is any 'Catter able to shed light on this worrying turn of events?

Steve

Oh. That's not what you were asking. I should read ALL of a post before replying, I suppose.

The official word is that since they are writing Robotman out of the script, they changed the name of the strip to Monty because it's about him now.

Whether or not the email change has anything to do with this, I don't know. I'd guess he didn't want to get a bunch of hate mail from Robotman fans, and took himself offline temporarily to avoid dealing with it.

Alex
