Thanks to every one who responded, really!

I'm after suggestions for singing songs at a wedding. Thing is, the Bride & Groom have quite different tastes in music (she'd like opera, he'd like alternative rock). Asking them doesn't help much.

Feel free to send me more suggestions, though! Anything beautiful and moving.

By the way, she wants me to sing as they walk down the aisle.

Can I suggest a song called IONA BLESSING - You'll find it on a CD by a couple of friends of mine under the name Celtic Soul. A really nice and very powerful song for a wedding. Tune is almost a chant and uses some nice vocal harmonies.

May the deep peace, Of the quiet earth, Be with you now, And stay with you. May it fill your lives, And all that you do. Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.

Then other verses with changes as .. peace of the running wave... flowing air... etc etc.

The trio I play with did this last week at a wedding reception and it worked very well. Thanks from bride and groom etc... Yes, it would work beautifully in a church.

If you can't find the CD, try e-mailing

benedom@celticsoul.com.uk

I'm sure they'll be glad to help you out.

Whoops, just realised... if you're in Australia, try contacting the Australian distributors. The CD was launched here in Queensland and I know it's available through a local folkspot.

Try e-mail celtictearoom@hotmail.com
