Subject: Finding old thread: 'fol de dol day'etc
From: GUEST,Geoff Harkson

Hello,

I'm trying to find an old thread (18 months old?) which discussed the origin/meaning of the 'nonsense' refrains prevalent in numerous British folk songs. IE:

"To me hip fol the day" etc. (You know the sort of thing!)

Not being able to remember the thread title, I'm having some difficulty locating it.

Grateful for any help.

Cheers

Geoff

There are a few. Try this one

I found it - and others - by searching the threads for "nonsense". Suprisingly, I didn't find EVERY thread :-)
