Subject: BS: Life was Oh so simple then From: jimlad Date: 28 Jan 03 - 07:00 AM During WWII my Ukranian friend Bo's dad and uncle were taken prisoner by the German army. They were then forced to join the German army. A few months later they found themselves on the Russian Front in charge of an anti-aircraft unit made up of fellow Ukies. Life was Oh so simple then,if the Russians flew over they got shot at,they were the enemy. If the Germans flew over they got shot at too,'cos they were also the enemy. After bringing down 2 German aircraft Bo's kinfolk were transferred to a munitions factory in occupied Poland. |
