Subject: Any News on Molly Mason? From: open mike Date: 16 Dec 03 - 05:02 PM A while back i remember hearing a report that Molly Mason had been hospitalized and the Jay Unger was playing music in the hospital so that she would be surrounded by music. I searched the forum and did not see this thread, but wonder if anyone knows of her condition or progress?? I believe it might have been a stroke or a brain hemmorhage that she suffered? Please send news, and plaease let it be good! Jay Unger and Molly Mason wrote Ashogan Farewell, which has become the most famous civil war/non-civil war song. A waltz in A which was written for Ken Burns' Civil War series, as I recall, has been mistaken for an original song from that era, though recently composed. Sort of like the situation with the song Darcy Farrow which won an "old songs" contest, though not actually old at all~!(it was written by Steve Gillette and Tom Campbell) |
