Is anyone else getting two copies of everything in the Mudcat photo archive? If not (or even if so)is there anything I can do about it? Ta.

Mudcat had a crash about 12 months ago which mucked the database up a bit. Duplicates there and elsewhere are one effect of this.

Trevor - as Jon says, the computers at Mudcat had a problem a while back. For various technical reasons, the peple who are trying to correct the problem decided that it was safer to leave as much undisturbed whilst trying to fix it. I believe the theory is that if they cure the original problem, the gltches will return to where thwy originally were, but if they move or delete duplicates, it might cause even bigger problems after a fix of the original one.
This led to various artefacts, one of which is two copies of everything on the photos pages. Another is that many older threads are out of sequence - e.g. the question being answered and discussed higher up the thread the original post asking for the information. This one can be solved by going to the top of the thread and clicking a button which says "Printer Friendly", which produces a format which has all the comments in the thread in the order they were actually posted.
