I think thats the title. First line I think " He was a friend of my Father".
I heard it years ago on a Tom Paxton programme but can't remember who wrote it or sang it. Does anyone recognise it??????? Any info, please.

The song as I remember it was reminiscence of the tellers childhood, memories of his father and friends getting old. Does that help. For some reason, the name Schooner Fair comes to mind.
