On Friday 23rd February 2007 at 8.00pm, the Music Institute Club in Guildford will be hosting Jo Freya.
An enormously telented singer and musicians, Jo has performed for us at club, concert and dance for over a quarter of a century in bands such as The Old Swan Band*,Blowzabella, Token Women as well as with her sister, Fi Fraser, in a duo and alongside Georgina Boyes and Coope, Boyes & Simpson. This will be her first ever solo gig with us, but as she can play saxophone, clarinet and whistle who needs a band? Music will commence at 8 pm, and the evening will finish at 10.30.

* Jo appears with The Old Swan Band at the Barn Dance in Godalming on Saturday 24th February.

I just saw her last weekend at Packie's birthday bash in Donegal, for the first time in about 16 years. She looked great, sounded great, and gave me a lovely soprano-sax backing on The Road To Dundee.

Time to push this notice back to the top of the pile methinks - catch her tonight if you can.

Thanks for that Bonnie - we had a good night, and Jo was in good form. Looking forward to seeing her in action with the Old Swan Band in Godalming tomorrow - Saturday 24th February - for the Godalming Borough Hall ceilidh!!! Glad to hear from her that Packie's birthday bash went well.
