A few months ago I was at a second hand store and saw a 5-disc set of Astro Boy DVD's for something like $15. My boys (ages 9 and 12) now LOVE Astro Boy (especially the 9 year old). Some of the names are different, the guy we know as Dr. Elephun (he has a very large proboscis) is now Dr. O'Shay. It is also in color, the original was b/w. I wonder if the plots are at all the same, I really don't remember them from the 60's. It certainly has the same feel, this little robot fighting evil and injustice, always triumphing even when his adversary is 10 times his size. |
