It is VERY quiet at our house! Firecat came home from college yesterday minus her voice and doing a reasonable impression of a hamster.

If you have seen it wandering anywhere or can offer any suggestions for her getting it back please let us know.

(At the moment she is drinking lots of honey and lemon, sleeping a lot and taking asprin/paracetamol.)

Actually, I was in the dinner queue at college on Wednesday and my best mate had to order my food for me!! It'd better come back!!!! Mind you, I'm also watching a LOT of Blackadder, but that does nothing for my throat cos I keep giggling (or at least trying to)!

She went to the docs tonight and he has FORBIDDEN her to try to speak for at least the weekend!!!!!!

She's on antibugotics to try and take down the swollen hamsters - probably stuffed as suggested Micca - but he says she'll just have to wait until it comes back and there's nothing she can do to hurry it.

At the moment she is frantically writing notes to indicate how P***** off she is. However he didn't say anything about her typing in Mudchat :-). She also wants to know, if she is not allowed to talk, how will she know if her voice comes back?

Not known her as quiet since she started to talk.

She is getting VERY fed up - which I can understand. The fact that the doc could give her no clues as to when it may return didn't help.

If anyone has suffered severe laryngitis and has any suggestions for help they would be appreciated - and not just by FC, but also her fustrated mother (her writing is appaling to try and read !)

If it's got a Yorkshire accent, and varies between fairly high and fairly deep, and sings mezzo-soprano at any given opportunity (especialy to the radio!), it might well be! Can I have it back please?

I think it is starting to return!!!!

Not yet enough to nag her mother but there are definately tiny sounds issuing from her mouth - I feel there may be more volume available but that she is scared to try it out :-( - just in case it goes again!!!
