I got "Walking on Sunshine", too - they suggested I "dance along the vegetable aisle pushing my shopping cart" then directed me to a website where I could buy "Maryjane" shoes for that very purpose. What on earth are Maryjane shoes ? Would they be suitable for Sainsbury's ? As I usually feel more like I'm "Fumbling through Thick Fog" long before I reach the checkout, perhaps the Maryjanes will make all the difference ? - Ever hopefully, Jeanie

Mine was "I Feel Good." My real theme songs change with circumstance. Before I got involved with my significant other of the last twelve years, I was involved with someone else. In that era, at the beginning, the theme song going through my head was Stan Rogers "45 Years. " By the end of two years (with her having problems with my travelling playing music with my singing partner of the past 19 years, and other emotional ups and downs, of which I tried to understand but nothing seemed to help) the theme song running through my head was Richard Thompson's "Walking on a Wire." Now, the theme songs seem to be songs I'm thinking we ought to work up.

If I chose my own, it would be "Fortress" by Sting. That's my current mantra anyway. For years, it would have been "Black Soul Sun" (I think that's the name???) or "Synchronicity 2". I was a dark lass for a looooong time. :D

For what it's worth they chose "Born to be Wild" for me, when everyone at Mudcat knows that my theme song is "Size Doesn't Matter"

Mooh, have always enjoyed the times I've seen John Renbourn. He stayed at a friend's house in Cleveland and cajolled a copy of our very first tape from her because he liked some song we played on it. Always found that flattering. To get back to theme related songs. Was thinking of John playing "Great Dreams from Heaven" today while hanging around work. I don't think that one's on the website to hand out either. This is a good thread for all of us who have tunes going through our heads all the time. Beats voices.

Phil,

John Renbourn was quite the entertainment, a real smooth player with some surprising twists and turns. Fun in the pub afterwards too, though I couldn't stay long (I get up at 4 am). He asked me to play for him at the workshop, which was pretty un-nerving, but he was so gracious and generous. There's much to learn from the likes of John about the folk ethic. He's had an interesting life so far, I hope someone writes about it.
