Subject: RE: Jim James at the Bothy, Southport, UK From: GUEST,Chris Lock Date: 18 Jun 07 - 12:15 PM Hi Sandgrounder. Sorry I missed Jim - only just picked up the thread. If anyone has a contact for Jim will you pass on this story to him. Last month Ian and myself (LocTup Together) were singing at at a festival near Katowice in Southern Poland. Whilst jamming and singing with the other artists in the Green Room a young lass called Ella (I think) who was with a Polish group called Betty Blue said she would sing an English song for us. It was Jim's "Time for the going home song". We joined her in singing it and she was amazed and delighted when we told her that Jim is a friend of ours. She said to pass on the message to him that it is a beautiful song that the Polish people love to sing it. Regards to all at the Bothy Chris |

Subject: RE: Jim James at the Bothy, Southport, UK From: GUEST,Raphael Callaghan Date: 28 Jun 07 - 08:27 AM Such a pleasure to play with Jim again. The Going Home Song and Love The Way You Play are such fine songs, and he even made Dougie McLean's Waiting For The Storm really bluesy. Keep singing, Jim! And what a great set from Kevin Littlewood, too, he must do his own CD, long overdue. Take care, Jim and Dot, see you next time . . . |
