Subject: Worlds of Trad November 2007 From: Fred McCormick Date: 15 Nov 07 - 07:14 AM Hi Folks, Just to let people know that the (November 2007) edition of Worlds of Trad Internet radio is now uploaded, will be on-line until Wednesday December 12th, and as always features the very best in traditional folk, ethnic, world, roots, blues, old time country and early jazz; traditional music from absolutely everywhere in fact. This month, there's live coverage from the early days of the Newport and Blairgowrie folk festivals, plus a good stack of sanctified spirituals from the Southern USA, some far eastern fiddle music, a few bits of western swing, various Irish musicians and blues singers, and a tribute to Duncan Williamson, who died just a couple of weeks ago. And there's a trombone shout band from Washington D.C. A what ? Well, if you don't know what a trombone shout band is, you'll just have to log on and listen. The full playlist is below and can also be seen at http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog&pop=1&indicate=1 . You will need to sign up to get into that one unfortunately. To listen to the programme, go to http://www.live365.com/stations/oneworldmusic , and click on the yellow speaker button. If you need to, follow the onscreen instructions to download the station player. Then press the green play button, wait a moment or two while the ads subside and the station will be on the air. Don't forget, the music's great, listening is free and I'm always glad to receive requests. Email me on Fredlive365@aol.com . Subject: RE: Worlds of Trad November 2007 From: johnadams Date: 15 Nov 07 - 12:08 PM Great playlist Fred. I enjoyed the last show and I know I'm going to enjoy this one. Coincidentally, I just dug out that track of the Burundi girls to use in a radio programme about voices that Chris Coe and I have done for our local radio station folk show. A remarkable piece of music! J |

Subject: RE: Worlds of Trad November 2007 From: Fred McCormick Date: 16 Nov 07 - 08:51 AM Glad you folks are enjoying the show. It sure is good to be sharin' all these wonderful sounds with people out there. Sure do hope y'all keep listenin'. However, regarding posting monthly playlists on Mudcat. I've been wondering whether it would be less messy for the mudelves if I set up a permathread, rather than starting a new thread for each upload. Can someone elucidate on the problems involved and how I go about it? |
