As I could not find a current thread for this event, I thought I'd start one.

17th Annual Leigh Folk Festival in Leigh on Sea, Essex runs from 26 through 29 June. Boasts loads of free events and fun for all the family.

Barn Dances, Ceilidhs, Concerts, Singarounds, Sessions, Workshops, Open Mike Competition, Children's Events, Dance Sides from Around the World.

Leigh on Sea is a lovely little place and the people I met at the last year's sing around sessions were warm and welcoming. Derek "Otto" Oliver, a very encouraging session MC. And the people at the Peter Boat pub, friendly and generous, which is so key to the success of a session.

Hope to spend more time there this year.

Tom. Sorry I am going to miss that show. Prior committment. Here's hoping you have a fantastic set and as the weather looks fine today, you should have a big crowd.

Sessions at the Peter Boat were great both Friday and Saturday night. Made friends and heard some awesome performers. Big thanks to the MCs, Derek "Otto" Oliver and Tony Prior.

I must learn more songs with choruses before next year!

Tam
