Subject: Hijacked Mudcat website?
From: Mark Cohen

Yesterday when I tried to log on the Mudcat site I got a message that said something like, "Cannot find 'jah.righteousness.org'" and I was unable to reach tohe site. I immediately ran a virus scan on my system, because someone had just told me about the new "Explore.zip" worm; fortunately there were no viruses. Today the site worked fine. Did this happen to anyone else? Is someone trying to hijack the Mudcat site? Any answers out there? It reminded me again of how vulnerable this whole setup is. Of course, so is life...

It's okay. Take a deep breathe and go to the "in the chat room to talk about the outage" thread (or some such name like that); there are clues there.

The jah.righteousness is Max's personal thingy.

I've been having this weird twilight zone thing happen to me while reading threads. When I click the back arrow the threads revert to how they were several days ago with the "spoons" thread at the top. Too weird! I have to click on refresh threads to get back to the present. Harmless, but weird.

I'd be very suspicious of anything with the word "righteousness" in it!

I've had the occasional hiccup in the past, but they seem to sort themselc=ves out eventually.
