Dear friends, by kind permission of Joe … I zoom-sing as half of a transatlantic duo. As the Sillertides, we (Linn Phipps and Doug Huggins) have been working on a project with painter Lionel Coates.    Lionel has a major exhibition coming up at the Clare Museum on 14 March 2022, of paintings of Ireland with three distinct themes of Famine, Fields and Fishing. I’ve spend nearly 45 years focussed on Gaelic competitive singing, choral/ solo.

Pandemic has been a great opportunity for expanding my repertoire and genres in English language, connecting with song communities and now I sing, do workshops and even Guesting, across the English speaking world. During the pandemic period I’ve created a website and Youtube channel, released/ reissued 5 CDs and collaborated from America to Australia, as well as developed skills in zoom – I co-host a monthly Gaelic-only sing, ladies shanty crew etc. I have projects in planning that are going to take me til I can’t sing any more.
