Subject: The Wise Man's Song by Cinder Well From: Dave the Gnome Date: 19 Feb 26 - 01:43 PM Just watched a wonderful fantasy/comedy/drama from the BBC called "Small Prophets" but more of that later. This thread is about the theme song The Wise Man's Song (Original Theme from Small Prophets) By Cinder Webb, who I had not come across before. I look forward to haering more of her! I may start a seperate thread for the TV series if there is enough interest but, for now, here is the Wiki entry I would only add that I now think Mackenzie Crook is a genius in both writing and directing this, and picking the music! Enjoy :-) |

Subject: RE: The Wise Man's Song by Cinder Well From: Black belt caterpillar wrestler Date: 22 Feb 26 - 07:52 AM I read somewhere that the music was composed deliberately to follow the style of music in "The Detectorists", and I think that this has worked well. There are many sub-plot jokes in the series that brings to mind the works of Terry Prattchet in that there are side-references that you only spot the second time round. There is a short bit of Simon and Garfunkle played, which references one of the bits of "The Detectorists". Robin |
