Subject: CD reissues: Monroe Brothers From: Stewie Date: 18 Apr 00 - 10:07 PM Here's some great news for lovers of old time, bluegrass etc if they haven't yet heard it. Rounder is to reissue the complete classic RCA/Bluebird 1930s recordings by Bill and Charlie Monroe. The first volume 'What Would You Give in Exchange for Your Soul?' is due for release on 20 June this year. Wow! --Stewie.

Subject: RE: CD reissues: Monroe Brothers From: Dale Rose Date: 18 Apr 00 - 10:41 PM Exactly, WOW! (flash, red, big, italics, bold, etc.) I certainly treasure my old RCA/Bluebird double album, but this will be SO much more! I read in another thread that someone said something to the effect that they were great instrumentally, but block out the vocals. That is strictly an opinion, and I'm here to say LISTEN to the vocals ~~ some of the best old time music out there! |
