Subject: Qu'avez vous a declarer? From: Mrrzy Date: 14 Jul 00 - 11:25 PM This song has the greatest description of taking exams I ever heard. Anyway, I believe it is by Les Frères Jacques, at least the recording I have is. If anyone could send me the lyrics, that would be great. Fair warning, I will then probably come after you for anything else they do, like l'Entrecôte, and La Fontaine est Profonde, and La Vièrge Eponyme, or whatever it is. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Qu'avez vous a declarer? From: Jim Dixon Date: 25 Nov 02 - 01:52 AM Amazon.fr lists a 7-CD set and a 3-CD set by Les Frères Jacques, each of which contains "Qu'avez-vous à Déclarer?" (Gilles). And you can hear a sound sample there. I listened, but I didn't understand a word of it. Anyone able to clue me in? |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Qu'avez vous a declarer? From: Mrrzy Date: 25 Nov 02 - 05:25 PM Thank you for reviving this. I'd love to have the words that I don't know--- here is what little I do get, without accents to save typing time: Le p'tit Paul dans sa famille vecut longtemps sans soucis Bachelier, la vie est belle, declara-t-il puis un jour (...) il trouva dans son courrier (... ...) Adieu patrie tracassiere! Mais, helas, a la frontiere... then I think he commits suicide? |

From: GUEST,Astorsen Date: 26 Nov 02 - 08:23 AM Mrzy, "cocopate" is actually "coq en pâte", a tribute to a way of cooking an old rooster so that it is edible. I do not know this song eventhough i like Frère Jacques' work. By the way, one of them died a few weeks ago... And, no, I do not have the recipe for "Coq en Pâte". JL |
