Subject: Wee Duck - dbl jig From: Stewart Date: 26 Aug 02 - 07:17 PM Here's a delightful double jig that I found in "Trad. Songs of N. Ireland" by Derek Bell & Liam O Conchubhair as used for the song "An Banai Drabhlasach" (The Rakish Wencher). I couldn't find any info on this jig in JC's Tunefinder or other collections. Perhaps it goes by another name. Anyone recognize this? The Wee Duck Midi File: Click to Play X:3 Cheers, S. in Seattle

Subject: RE: Tune Add: Wee Duck - dbl jig From: Stewart Date: 27 Aug 02 - 06:54 PM Thanks Jim. At first hearing they do sound similar, but upon comparison they are somewhat different, even have slightly different chord structures. So maybe one was derived from the other, but I think they are different tunes. Both are nice tunes though. S. in Seattle

Subject: RE: Tune Add: Wee Duck - dbl jig From: Wyrd Sister Date: 28 Aug 02 - 01:23 PM How appropriate that it's a DOUBLE jig - I wonder if the duckling twins will ever get to dance/play it? Better give 'em another year or so yet, tho. |
