Subject: Looking for From: Sophie Date: 29 Jul 98 - 06:02 PM Can someone help, please? I'm looking for a jig called The Castle which is also known as Willy Hayes( or something like that). It's not in O'Neill"s and I can't find it anywhere else either. Someone suggested The Kesh Jig is sometimes referred to as The Castle, but that is not the one I mean. I'd love to have the sheetmusic for it, but a recording of it would be absolutely grand too. Your help would be very much appreciated. Sophie |

Subject: Tune Add: THE CASTLE JIG / LONESOME / SEAN RYAN'S From: Jon W. Date: 29 Jul 98 - 08:06 PM Okay, I got curious and looked there for you. He has one called "The Castle" with three versions. Here is the ABC of it:
X:1 No doubt you'll now wonder what ABC is. It's a music notation good for email and internet stuff. Go to the link in my previous message and from there to the ABC homepage to read about it. There is software available to convert from ABC to sheet music. If you want to skip all that, I could be induced to send you a .BMP file of the sheet music of this if you email me at jdwhitney@wpmail.code3.com. By the way, the line in the ABC which reads "D:De Dannan: Selected Jigs and Reels" means that this tune appears on DeDannan's recording of that name. I'll have to listen to my tape of that to see if it's true. Jon W. |
