Subject: RE: anything in Seattle this weekend From: Stewart Date: 22 Apr 03 - 12:16 PM Hi Mary. You could drop in on our weekly Irish session on Sunday at Fado's, 801 First Ave (just north of Pioneer Square) from 4 - 7 pm. And at 7:30 Sunday evening is a Seattle Folklore Society concert by Helsinki Express (John Miller, Ruthie Dornfeld & friends). Ruthie is a fantastic fiddler from Seattle with a diversity of styles, John is a wonderful jazz guitarist and composer also from Seattle, and "friends" include two musicians from Finland - Petri Hakala, a virtuoso mandolinist, and bassist Tapani Vari. It should be an evening of amazing repertoire from traditional Finnish and Swedish music to Celtic and American fiddle tunes to Brazilian choros and bossas and jazzy originals. Cheers, S. in Seattle |

Subject: RE: anything in Seattle this weekend From: Stewart Date: 22 Apr 03 - 10:51 PM Mary, I'll probably not be at the session since I'm going to the SFS concert at 7:30. Don't know yet where the song circle will be. You could check later in the week with Bruce. Stew |
