The excellent band Kerfuffle have been nominated for the finals of the Radio 2 Young Folk Awards. In addition to that, a track or two from the album K2 will be played on Late Junction on Radio 3 tonight (Wednesday) between 10:15pm and 12:00 midnight.

Saw this lot at Cleckheaton, technically competent, but our dead cat's got more Uummfffff !, in addition a great deal of their material sounded the same. They won't be getting my vote

They're kids Raggy, still learning the biz. Give the poor little buggers a break man! I wish that I (at 57) could play like they can (at around 18!) :0)

They have very mature arrangements - have a great stage presence; made two succesful LP's; and appeared at Sidmouth and a lot of festival northwards. They have entered the Young Folk Awards contest for the first time because one of them wasn't old enough before. That's right - too young to enter the BBC Young Folk Awards!!!!

So let's give them a break and if we have to offer some criticism then let's make it positive and constructive. My worry for the award is that they will not have enough time to display their full range of talents.

Best regards,

Dave Eyre
