Having just experimented with creating a tune in abc format I'd like to know any recommendations for software that will allow me to create tunes on a standard PC in ABC format from my MIDI keyboard.

Any of the "MUS ADDED" postings of the last week will lead you to a very neat program rocommended by DT.

If you are looking for a highly polished commercial program - I personally prefer "Cakewalk" over "Soundforge." Both have net ".com" sites.

G'day,
Not cheap, but I use Musicator Audio which is a MIDI sequencer, notator (i.e. prints sheet music) and 16 track audio recorder (i.e. it's a recording studio). A bit quirky but very powerful. I've been using it for years now - my first version was a DOS version.
