I have a version by Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen. I'd like to play a lively version and probably add some lyrics. I'm a beginner at guitar, but I know most chords and I'm developing my barre chords (I can do two fairly well). I practising scales to get the finger dexterity. I'd like to play this song. Can anyone help with the chords?

Try these Brass. A fave of mine from 1971.

Seeds and Stems Again

INTRO: chords to last verse line, twice (G F C   G F C   )

V1:
C                E                F                      C
I'm sittin alone, Saturday night, watching the Late Late Show.
C                E                F                  C
A bottle of wine, some cigarettes, I got no place to go.
A                      G          F                           C
Well, I saw your other man today; he was wearing my brand new shoes,
       G                F            C
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.

V2:
Well, I met my old friend Bob today from up in Bowling Green;
He had the prettiest little gal that I'd ever seen.
But I couldn't hide my tears at all, cause she looked just like you,
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.

CHORUS:
F             C       F                         C
Now everybody tells me there's other ways to get high.
F                  C    A         D               G
They don't seem to understand I'm too far gone to try.
    C            E       F                   C
Now these lonely memories, they're all I can't lose,
       G                F            C
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.

[Verse solo, fiddle/steel]

V3:
[first line spoken, not sung]
Well my dog died just yesterday and left me all alone.
The finance company dropped by today and repossessed my home.
That's just a drop in the bucket compared to losing you,
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.
TAG:    G                F          C
Got the Down to Seeds and Stems again Blues.

Sorry Brass. The chords didn't reappear in the correct locations. But they are the right chords for that line in the song. Let me know if you can't sort them out and I'll do it for you later.

Don
