This site, Hymns and Carols of Christmas, run by Douglas D. Anderson, has been cited several times here in the past couple of years in connection with various songs. I think it's worth noting as a valuable site for anyone wanting not only song texts (and tunes, in some cases), but a wealth of related information.

I'm enjoying working on the Wassailing! page at the moment.

He includes lots of links between songs and topics, as well as lots notes and transcriptions from various original historical sources.

The front page is a bit commercial, but once inside it's not at all. I assume he's drumming up financial support for running the site (he's got Amazon links for his song book and others, among other things). But, before I realized how long the page went on with ads, I was struck by his note: "If you have received a benefit from this site, please consider making a donation to an appropriate charity."

Check it out.

Always my first choice. Even before the Oxford Book of Carols. Multiple choices on some, and the notes, and scores, where they are given, make this a premium website.

In the hamlet where I live, we wassailed our newly planted apple trees this year and the whole village came, plus a lot of the usual suspects! This year wwe are starting at the old orchard at the bottom of the hamlet [hopefully] and working our way up the village. When we lived at our other house Mike O'Connor wrote wassail the silver apple for our trees and this year he wrote the Rillaton wassail for our new ones.
