Subject: Names for Folk 'Tribute' Bands
From: GeoffLawes
Date: 24 Jan 05 - 01:04 PM

Last night ,being kept awake by an unpleasant combination of lower back pain and a bad cough, I whiled away the sleepless hours thinking up names for bands that might perform as tribute acts in folk music. Here is my list to which you might like to add.

       Fauxport Convention
       The Not Yetties
       The Voice Quads
       Clonead
       The Cheaptains
       Crapercallie
       Morris Vanson
       The Doubliners
       The Fake Tansads
       The Switches Of Elsick

but my favourite ( I'm from Hull ) was Waterson All

It may not be folk... but I had the idea of forming a tribute band to the early music of Ian Anderson and the boys, and calling it Retro Tull...

Or we could cover all the rare and archived unreleased stuff they've put out recently and call that band Jethro Dull

While we're on the subject of crap outtakes that shouldn't be released, how about "King Crimson with Embarrassment"?
