Subject: exposethemusic.com From: GUEST,baz parkes Date: 07 Jan 08 - 04:14 PM Anybody else come across this lot? Or fallen foul? You might want to see what they say about you.. 'All Blacked Up' - A disgraceful band from HELL... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi There are many worthy bands out there that deserve respect and praise. But my experience with a particular band, was a nightmare. This band is called 'All Blacked Up' and they are a Ceilidh Band based in Shropshire. I hired this band for some entertainment at my venue. But, I was shocked at their appaling attitude. Their main band member, 'Barry Parkes', was racially abusive to some of my punters and he was dis-respectful to some of my staff. This is the worst band that I have hired at my venue. I thought they had a decent reputation....but they were just a complete sham. They did not even perform the set number of pieces that they agreed and that I paid them for. Barry Parkes is a disgrace to Ceilidh music and a racist. He offended some of my punters and I am considering to take some possible action against the man and even the band. I never knew that hiring a band could be such a hassle. I hope no one else has to go through this stress. Mike Gittins. Good eh....impatient, yes, rude, yes, too daft to laugh at yes...but racist... What's the old saying about publicity...... yours, still slightly reeling (which we obviously didn't do enough of at the gig:-)) Baz ABU |

Subject: RE: exposethemusic.com From: The Borchester Echo Date: 08 Jan 08 - 04:23 PM Ferchrissake, here we go. It's just about the time of year for a rerun of Padstow Darkie Days saga too. I suppose you lot in the US haven't heard of Border Morris either. These expressions are NOT racist. They are aspects of ancient English customs. Such a mindless criticism is as braindead as that from the totally unmilitant tendency of the trade union movement who tried to ban the expression 'blackleg'. I think most of us ought to be capable of distinguishing successfully between items of garb and discrimination on the grounds of race. |
