I have seen the possum ocarina.

That's right, today, while the rest of you (in N. America) were at work, I had lunch with Catspaw. As proof of his identity, he produced the ocarina, one of the holy objects in the Mudcat Religion. And then his son intoned one of the secret phrases, seemingly out of nowhere: "My daddy made an egg that said 'bite me'". Ladies and gentlemen, you know what that means. (Actually, I didn't, but it was explained that it was a reference to an Easter decorating incident.)

So, for those of you, like me before today, who have never seen a Mudcat in the flesh, they (we) really do exist! And I had a great time. I met the Children of Catspaw, who are very very cute and were very good. I brought my sister, and she behaved reasonably well too. It was lovely.

It certainly eased my jealousy over not being at bbc's this weekend.

And I too had a GREAT time. I'm now assured that 'Catters really do exist in the real world. We ate, we talked 'Cat, and Cara was introduced to the possum. As only the 3rd Mudcatter to meet the boy, she should be given a place of distinction in the community. And as you can see, my son Michael is off to a life of juxtaposed nonsense like his Old Man.........Just great huh? I have NO idea what triggered that tidbit of information, but it probably gives you some idea of what growing up here is like, not to mention my maturity as a parent and otherwise.

Cara was funny and fun to talk with and I hope her sis was as understanding of the nonsense as she seemed to be. It's not often an Old Fart gets to have lunch with two wonderful young women, you know?

HEY...DC Catters....Get Cara out to some of your stuff!!! She may be a tad shy, but the effort to get her to join you will be well worth it!
