Subject: Tune Req: 'skit' records, Skillet Lickers etc. From: GUEST,Dad Perkins Date: 06 Sep 11 - 10:04 AM Hey Mudcatters, I'm looking for early country skit records like 'Hog Killin' day by Gid Tanner et al. The other obvious example is 'Corn Licker Still in Ga.' but I'm looking less for comedy records and more for records that describe how to do something (like skin a hog) in the context of a scripted skit, with or without music. The larger theme here could be described as, "records that describe how to do "country" things". |

Can't find audio for "Corn Licker Stillin Georgia", but here's some description: click 1, click 2. 14 sides, wow! ~ Becky in Long Beach |

The back of the album cover has a useful glossary for many of the terms in the game of making illicit brew which is very helpful. I don't think however that you will find many other country activities mentioned there except drinking fighting and making music. Thinking about it, what more do you need? Hoot |
