Subject: RE: Review: Ingleton comic song. Contest From: Paul Reade Date: 06 Aug 24 - 04:12 PM Ingleton Comic Song Contest was part of the now-defunct Ingleton Folk Festival, and was held on Sunday lunchtime at The Old Hill Inn at Chapel-le-Dale, a few miles outside Ingleton village. I entered a couple of times - in one I was runner-up to Muppet, and in the other lost to Andy Hill. Muppet currently runs Sunday afternoon singarounds in the Buck Inn at Buckden in the Yorkshire Dales, on the second Sunday of each month from 1 - 4pm. He doesn't drive, so this timing enables visitors to catch the "Dalesbus" which runs from Leeds etc. to and from Buckden. Andy Hill now lives in the Scarborough area, and we had a great session yesterday at his weekly singaround at the Red Lion in the village of Cloughton on the main Scarborough - Whitby road. Some excellent singers and musicians, and Andy's wit was as sharp as ever. |
Subject: RE: Ingleton comic song. Contest From: Dave the Gnome Date: 08 Aug 24 - 02:57 AM Thanks for the update Paul. Much appreciated. I am near Skipton so Muppet's singaround is quite feasible for me. When you see Andy again tell him that "Tailor of the Dales" is still a regular on my play list. |
