Just to save people time, if they look: the Ballad Index web site is down. The entire site has been deleted from the ISP. I don't know what happened; we are investigating.

It was the ISP's response, and credit is due to David Engle, who got them to do whatever they did. Me, I'm still trying to figure out what happened. :-) But, yes, it's back and fully functional as best I can tell.

Best guess right now is that someone simply accidentally dropped the whole directory containing the web site into a different directory, so there was nothing to find. (I can't prove that; I was asleep when it happened.) So the directory simply had to be put back and the pointer to it re-pointed. Which is why it went fast. I could rebuild the site if I had to (I've done it twice now), but it takes days, just because there are so dang many files to move.
