Blair Dunlop (his son) has posted on the Ashley Hutchings page on Facebook that Ashley has had a stroke and is in Eastwood Ward at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Derbyshire. Apparently he is well enough to be following England in the World Cup but some gigs have had to be cancelled.

From an announcement on Sidmouth Folk Festival Facebook page today:
“We are very saddened to hear that Ashley Hutchings is withdrawing from public performances for the foreseeable future following a stroke.”
The “foreseeable future” bit sounds somewhat ominous, but only time will tell. Adding my best wishes.
