Subject: Change the wine back to water
From: GUEST,Lee

The other night on the George Jones Show, I heard T. Graham Brown sing a song, the refrain of which was

"Lord, could you change the wine back to water."

I'd like to get the lyrics for the whole song, if anyone has them.

Thanks.

Lee

Story -- Many years ago Lloyd Pfautch, who directed the Dallas Civic Chorus (also on music faculty at SMU) told of a meeting to revise Methodist Hymnal. A bishop wanted to insert a footnote into wedding service that wine should not be associated with it. He then told of his shock at being offered wine at a wedding. Someone else spoke up.. "well bishop, why didn't you just change it back into water!"

Changing wine back to water? Isn't that what the Big Guy made kidneys for? Besides, to do it any other way would be an insult to the divinely inspired labors of the yeasty beasties. Never muck about with God's plan.
