Subject: Jesus As A Carpenter From: GUEST,SH Date: 15 Oct 00 - 06:55 AM I was watching a religious broadcast and someone sang a song about Jesus as a Carpenter. It was around Christmas time when I heard the song. The song talked about how a carpenter lovingly works on the wood to make it into something and it said that is how Jesus lovingly works on our lives if we allow him. It was just such a beautiful song with such a nice message to it that I wondered if anyone had the words. I heard it on a 7th Day Adventist Program. A lyric called Jesus Christ when I was posting this came up from the Database but I don't think that was the song I think it was different than that because it was very descriptive of how a carpenter makes things with his hands and takes great time and show patience. It is a very nice song. I heard it once and have never heard it since. Watch the Lamb is another beautiful song and I heard someone sing and if you search on the Internet for "Watch The Lamb" someone has actually dedicated a website or part of a website to that song. It was very moving and a man named Ray Boltz sang it and wrote it I believe. I have a friend who likes a song called "Handle Bar Mustache" she would like to have the lyrics and I thought someone might have the lyrics. I want to end by saying I went to Dale Rose's The Record Lady's Website it is wonderful. My Mom and I really enjoyed listening to the music she put up there. It is a very lovely website and it is evident that Dale Rose put a lot of effort into the website and it is nice that she put up a Tribute to Hank Snow on it. She deserves a pat on the back I think it is one of the nicest places on the Internet. |

Subject: Dale Rose the Record Lady? From: Joe Offer Date: 15 Oct 00 - 07:26 PM Dale Rose is a very valuable and knowledgeable resouce. However, to my knowledge, he is NOT Rose, the Record Lady. [chuckle] Click here for the "Watch the Lamb" site. We have a song in the database called Father's Whiskers, and I'll post "Pencil-Thin Moustache" below - but I don't know about a handlebar moustache. -Joe Offer- |

Now they make new movies in old black and white
Chorus:
I remember bein' buck-toothed and skinny
Then it's Bandstand, Disneyland, growin' up fast
Then it's flat top, dirty bob, coppin' a feel
Yeah, but now I'm gettin' old, don't wear underwear
Chorus:
Oh, I could be anyone I wanted to be

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Jesus As A Carpenter From: Mrrzy Date: 16 Oct 00 - 11:37 AM I also heard a version of a biography of JC done to the tune of Jesse James (and that dirty little coward called Judas Escariot has laid Jesus Christ in his grave) - it had the line Jesus was a man, a carpenter by hand, but I don't think it went into the details of how following this god is like being a piece of wood - fashionable (*BG*)... |
