I remember a nonsense song that may go back even to the fifties (not sure of the date). Part of the lyric was something like: Beware of the blob, it creeps and leaps,
and slides and glides across the floor
and around the door....
Any help in coming up with both lyrics and tune would be appreciated. Every year about this time I start to wonder about it.

I remember hearing that on Dr. Demento! Great song. All I remember is just what you remember (obviously the part of the song with the best lyrical and/or musical hooks). Good luck!

One web site I found in my dredging claims the song was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Figures.

I also found a very interesting website that claims the movie is sexist because (if I understand correctly, although I'll admit I probably don't) it shows a girl's underwear, and the "blob" is therefore symbolic of female sexuality. Sort of. clicky
